Vanessa Emerson began working on projects for Cristi Holcombe Interiors on a contractual basis in the fall of 2015 and came on board full time as Sr. Designer in early 2016. Not only is Vanessa’s resume packed with residential and commercial interior design experience, but she and Cristi also have a long standing friendship that was started years back while working together for Beazer Homes. Cristi and Vanessa have had much mutual respect for each others designs through the years and have always shared similar style preferences…and a love of horses.
Vanessa has ten years of interior design experience and 300+ model homes under her belt. She has worked for several top ten builders (Beazer Homes, Ryan Homes, and NVR) designing award-winning model homes across the country. Most recently, she was a senior designer for four and a half years with Heritage Home Group creating model homes with exclusive access to top brands like Drexel Heritage and Henredon.
Her love for interior design was born from many hours spent in art galleries and with local artists in her hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Vanessa spent most of her life outdoors, riding horses and enjoying nature. She moved to Alpharetta, GA in middle school and later attended the University of Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of fine arts in interior design. While at the University of Georgia, she was a member of the NCAA Equestrian team.
Much of Vanessa’s work can be described as eclectic; rustic but refined. Horse statues and paintings have been known to show up in her designs. She also has a deep passion for antique wood accents and furniture.
Vanessa lives in Sugar Hill, Georgia with her husband Jeff, son Daniel, and daughter Hannah.
“I was lucky enough to find my dream job straight out of college. I spent ten years traveling the country, installing models, finding a solution to ANY design problem, and pushing the boundaries of my designs each and every week. Now that I have a family and miles of experience, I’m ready to travel down another path and expand by design depth. I live by 2 sayings “what would you do if you knew you could not fail” and ‘find a job that you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’. I absolutely love what I do and still can’t believe this is my career.”
